If you watched the interview, you know that Campbell Brown, along with other American voters, think it's important to know what Palin's views are, especially since she's running for Vice President! Like McCain, she says one thing and it's proven that it's not true and WE'RE NOT SUPPOSE TO QUESTION THAT. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! An example is the bridge to nowhere, also her so called opposition to earmarks, AMONG MANY OTHERS. Now McCain won't even make her available to the American people. This is totally ridiculous! At least you can't charge Brown with being sexist. (or maybe that will be next)

Anon (9/6 1:27), first let me disclose up front that I will not be voting for McCain/Palin, but I probably won't be voting for Obama/Biden either. I agree with you in that since Palin is running for VP, all is fair when it comes to, as Paul Begala pointed out, her record. Most of my liberal friends met her debut with a bunch of unwarranted attacks on her family which I believe only served to galvanize the Republicans. It's pretty obvious that Republicns tend to vote more on how a particular candidate appeals to them rather than on the issues (think George Bush-2004). So by liberals coming after one of their own, this only served to energize their base. And with the exception of Fox News, the mainstream media is part of the liberal establishment in the eyes of many conservatives.
I think it's already very obvious what her views are, and of course we should question her views and her politcal record. I think she does have some explaining to do when it comes to her opposition to the "bridge to nowhere." As for the plane, give us a break! She did put it on E-bay. So what if it sold through a broker and it didn't actually turn a profit as McCain mistakenly said. The fact is she did right by her constituents and got most of the money back to the state.
When it comes to "troopergate," I suggest you go here and you'll see somebody who is not exactly a stellar human being, much less a trooper. My question to former Alaskan Public Safety Commissioner, Walter Monegan, is why wasn't he fired? Why did even one phone call have to be made to him regarding this man? Let me ask all of you, what would you do if you were a governor and a state trooper threatened your family? I think under the circumstances, she handled it well and apparently Monegan was fired for other reasons. We'll find out soon enough.
As for making her "available to the American people," I hope you and my liberal friends will have the decency to not criticize her for wanting to spend some private time with her son before he is deployed to Iraq. And since it has been only a few days since McCain chose her, I'm sure she is busy getting briefed on McCain's foreign policy as not many governors really do have foreign policy experience (I don't remeber Bill Clinton having much foreign policy experince when he first ran). I'm sure she will be having a press conference soon enough and she will be on the Sunday talk shows and she will be debating Biden as well. So she will be answering all these questions.
Now about your last comment anon. No, I don't think Campbell Brown was being sexist, and I've been reluctantly watching CNN lately because I can't stand the other two extremist networks Fox News (on the right) and MSNBC (on the left) although CNN has not been much better. I've seen CNN point out things like the names of Palin's speech writers for one, where they would never think to point out Obama's speech writers (or if he lifted parts of his speech from other politicians-think Deval Patrick).
I think the tone of your comment implies that women can't be sexist, which is totally wrong. I suppose you also think that a black man can't be a racist. I've heard many women say things like, "why is she not staying home and taking care of her kids" which can easily be asked of Obama or any other man running for office. But it never does get asked of a man because society as a whole is still trained to see a woman as the nurturer, the mom and only the mom. Many women are guilty of this sexist attitude.
Bottom line, her record is fair game, and all the other side issues are just a distraction and as long as the coversation is about her, it doesn't help Obama.
