On the eve of the 2008 RNC, I thought it was worth a look back at what the DNC could be at it's best.
In an incredibly prescient speech, Rep. Barbara Jordan (TX-18) becomes the first woman and and African-American to deliver a keynote speech at the 1976 Democratic National Convention. The speech which could have easily been written today, touched on such subjects as partisanship, national community and identity, race, economic and social justice, government ethics, integrity and civic responsibility.
